Who we are

Digital skills in Nakivale are at the heart of what CAMPUS Digital Hub provides. We are a community-based organization located in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, Uganda. Our name stands for Connect, Assist, Mentor, Provide, Uplift, and Support values that shape everything we do. Founded in 2023 and started its operations in 2024 to unlock the potential of refugees and underserved communities by providing access to digital skills, tools, and opportunities that lead to real change. Through community-led learning, innovation, and support, we help people build brighter futures for themselves and for others.

Mission

We equip the people of Nakivale with digital skills to confidently navigate online spaces, protect themselves from digital risks, and access new opportunities for learning, connection, and growth.

Vision

A digitally connected society where every individual has equal access to opportunities and resources to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world

Rationale

Nakivale is full of potential, but a lack of digital access holds people back from jobs, education, and opportunity. CAMPUS Digital Hub directly addresses this by teaching vital digital skills, empowering individuals to build their own futures and thrive. We’re giving the community the tools they need to lead the way.

Why CAMPUS now?

Life in Nakivale Refugee Settlement is challenging, especially for young people who have the passion and talent to do more but often lack access to opportunities. Many face barriers to education, technology, and employment not because they lack ability, but because they’ve been underserved for too long. We created CAMPUS to respond to that need. We believe the youth here are not just learners; they are problem-solvers, creators, and future leaders. What they need is a place to grow their skills, share their ideas, and turn their energy into action. CAMPUS is that place, a hub where technology meets purpose, where communities learn, innovate, and rise together. This is why CAMPUS exists-to make sure no potential is wasted.

Beyond Nakivale

Our work starts in Nakivale, but the lessons do not stay here. When people learn to think, build and solve problems in a place with real pressure, they carry those skills wherever they go. What we test here can grow in other settlements, towns or countries because the principles remain the same. Start small, stay practical, and build things that make sense in everyday life. This is how the work moves beyond one place without pretending to be bigger than it is.
